One of the benefits of Comfort Mapping Technology is the reduction in unnecessary seams so the jacket is lighter and less rigid. This is made possible by a new laminating method in which lining fabric with different properties is applied to a special GORE-TEX® laminate. The design is also more adaptable while at the same time catering more specifically and efficiently for the needs of the body’s individual climate zones: warmth regulation, an accurate fit, ventilation, breathability and wearing comfort are optimised precisely where they are most needed. The lining can be created completely independently from the exterior of the jacket.

The benefits of the new FUSION jacket for cycling
Using fewer seams and incoporating stretch materials significantly improves the garment’s fit, weight and freedom of movement when cycling. The interior of the jacket has a number of different sections such as “warmth”, “flex”, “comfort”, and “vent” which are placed on the different zones of the body exactly where they are needed the most.

The lightest materials currently available in the market are selected and integrated into all the areas of the garment. These different fabrics deliver specific performance benefits which different parts of the body demand or require. For example, the challenge in the “warmth” zone was to deliver the correct level of warmth in the small of the back with the lightest possible material. The back and arms have “flex” zones made from exceptionally stretchy fabric, giving cyclists the freedom of movement they need. The “vent” zone regulates rapid heat exchange and comprises zipped vents in the armpit area and back vents.

For cyclists this adds up to many benefits: the jacket has been designed to give a better fit and thus provides increased riding comfort in a lighter garment, as well as rapid wicking away of moisture, climate control and ventilation.

Uses of the FUSION Jacket
The jacket is ideal for off-road cyclists who value high performance and don’t want to miss out on their usual cross-country tour even when it is raining or snowing. Thanks to the GORE-TEX® Performance Shell the jacket is completely waterproof, windproof and breathable. A hood, which stows away in the collar, and a fold-down, extra-long back section provide additional protection from the wet.
