The new releases in the winter 2010/2011 range of GORE BIKE WEAR™ are the XENON SO jacket and the XENON SO bib tights. These stand out as the "Ferrari" of garments among winter combinations for passionate road cyclists. The ergonomic design with a whole range of smart new features provide the ideal outfit for winter training, even in an icy-cold wind.

The XENON line is the racing range of GORE BIKE WEAR™, designed for top-performing bikers. For competitive cyclist's training and racing over long distances, physical performance goes hand in hand with having the right apparel. Accordingly, part of the philosophy of GORE BIKE WEAR™ is to develop even better products each season.

The new XENON SO jacket has been developed to meet the needs of top riders. "SO" stands for WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell, whose windproof, breathable and water-repellent properties are ideal for colder temperatures. The jacket is adapted to meet the varying heat requirements of different parts of the body, according to the body mapping system. The result is an extremely close-fitting aerodynamic garment, perfectly suited to the body position of a rider crouched over the handlebars to minimise wind resistance.

The jacket also has plenty of other features. The ergonomically designed vertical collar is made of a quick-drying thermal insulation material, so soft that it is barely felt against the sensitive region of the neck, and also breathable. The 360-degree reflective print enhances visibility, making it safer to train in the dark winter months. And for the first time, the three-part back pocket now includes a zip-fastened safety pocket set off to the side, protecting the contents from splash water.

And last but not least, the jacket has ventilation openings with mesh inserts and rubber stickers on the hem to keep the garment sitting correctly. Colour-contrasted zips also create a super-stylish look for the garment. Anyone who is always out on the road won't want to be without it.

The jacket is designed to be worn with the new XENON SO bib tights. These, too, set new standards for function, styling and visual appearance. The body mapping system is again used to good effect: WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell has been combined with a thermal fabric to provide a perfect fit and correspondingly effective protection against the elements during the cold winter months.

Ultra Sonic seams and an ultra-high back provide additional comfort, with the distinctive XENON reflective print for 360-degree visibility. For the first time, the new, improved stirrup is made of a quick-drying thermal insulation material, to eliminate the "cold bridge" that previously tended to form between the ankles, as a particularly heat-sensitive area.

The XENON seat cushion provides maximum comfort in the seat. The three-dimensional contours adapt perfectly to the rider's anatomy. Cutaway sections in the perineal area and foam gel inserts help to cushion vibrations and provide increased comfort on long trips.
